Bill of sale - is a document filled out on a special form, it specifies the names of the seller and the buyer, the name, model, VIN code of the car, as well as, if desired, its other characteristics. The price of the car, in the currency of sale, date and place of drawing up is necessarily indicated. If the seller is a legal entity, as a rule, he issues an invoice with his signature and stamp.

The form of the vehicle registration certificate form for a car differs depending on the country of registration. Below are samples of vehicle registration certificates for the main European countries. The car, which is imported to Ukraine for customs clearance, must be deregistered from the country of registration. This is noted in the vehicle registration certificate and a temporary (transit) vehicle registration certificate which are issued for the final export of the car.

For customs clearance of the car you need a copy of the civil passport (the first, second page and the page with the address of residence), as well as the identification code of the owner. If you have a passport in the form of an id card - its photo on both sides and a certificate of registration of the place of residence.

If the car is imported to Ukraine by a trusted person (carrier), but not by the owner personally, then to transport such a car it is necessary to obtain a notarized power of attorney from the owner. In this case, a copy of the passport and identification code of the carrier is also required for customs clearance of the car.

To export a car from the EU countries at the border it is also necessary to provide a customs export declaration (SAD). During the customs car in Ukraine, this declaration can serve as an additional confirmation of the value of your car, specified in the sale contract.

A prerequisite for crossing the border is the prior payment of customs duties on the car. The bank receipt confirms the fact of such payment, its number and date are indicated in the preliminary customs declaration.

In some cases, legal entities may be granted duty exemptions. The original EUR.1 certificate of origin is required to prove the origin of the vehicle from the EU.

After customs clearance is completed, the owner is given a copy of the customs declaration stamped by the customs office. The certificate for registration in the Service Centre of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in 2024 is not issued by Customs, and the information about the registration of the car is transmitted to the Ministry of Internal Affairs electronically

In order to register a vehicle in the Service Centre of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, it is also necessary to certify the vehicle and obtain a certificate of conformity.
